Hello Festify team,

After a couple of songs, the music stops playing randomly and the console is showing errors with the connection to Firebase and a 401 coming from the Spotify API. See the screenshot. After some refreshing, pressing play, pausing and pressing play again the song starts playing again.

We are using Safari 16 on macOs Monterey, but had the same problem with Chrome.

Hi Otto, guessing from here this looks like transient connection problems on either Spotify's, Firebase's or your internet connection's side, which Festify then eventually chokes on.

If it really is that, there isn't much we can do from here. Over time, however, we would expect these issues to resolve themselves. Can you check whether the problem persists for a longer time and then reply back? Perhaps also try connecting from a different connection, e.g. via your mobile phone's cell connection.

This has been happening over the span of several months. I don’t think it is related to network issues to be honest, this machine is on our enterprise network.

And 401 (Unauthorized) response codes from Spotify are functional issues, not network related.

Could it be something gets firewalled off inside your enterprise network?

Sadly we don't have control over that specific type of request since it's made by the Spotify SDK but I could certainly imagine a middle box or firewall getting in the way there, though, and modifying the requests in such a way Spotify rejects them.

Have you tried connecting the machine to a different network?
