There is no configuration currently. Things to consider:

whether to show something in paused state
whether to show elapsed or remaining time (or none)
poll interval (?)
players to ignore

Configuration with per-player overrides and most options have been added for 0.2.0.

I'll take a look at a few reasonable (and light-weight) templating engines, or may need to write something on my own at a later time.
