What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

This proposal will acomplish better "group by features"
Im a viusal artist. Ive been working for 10 years in OSX/Finder with a huge amount of files and folders. And I need it to be visual (thumbnail). When dealing with huge amounts of visual data is necessary the file by type group. Since too many folders are useless (visualizing what is inside each one is counterproductive).
I personally love how Finder organizes it:
1st- folders
2nd- documents
3rd- images
4th-PDF documents
5th- video files
6th-others

And going now to windows is a horror show. Since its grouped alphabeticlly. And certain files like images, text and video are separated by the exact file type. Ex: JPEG and PNG are in separated groups. And alphabetilly order does not make sense.
I would love a windows software where i could choose what to put inside each group and its hirearchy in the layout.

Have you found the group by menu option?

Yes, but the organization is not so good.
The image files are separated by jpeg, png and etc.

What about the option to sort by type?

To clarify, you're looking to include "PNG" and "JPG" in the same group, is that correct? This can be achieved by adding tags to the files and sorting/grouping by tag.

I would second this feature, the solution to add tags to everything is very clunky and things will be missed, unless there is a way to add X tag to all extensions x y z type.

I would differentiate the feature as group by type (how people talk about files, image/video/documents/etc) and group by extension (.jpg/.png/etc)

I am just looking for something that sorts by type like apple finder. Is the only way for a visual artist/designer like me to organize its PC

I am looking for all image files at the same group. Like you have in mac Finder
I know that this technique that you mentioned can be done but i deal with all possible image files that there is so taging each file type one by one is insane for me. I am talking about image folders with over 2000 images in all possile formats, plus folders, text files and etcc all at the same folder
