With this file as test.txt

okay
yeah
okay

I get this as an output

okayyeahokay

Interesting. What version are you using? I get a different output with 0.2.3 and with the master branch.

$ clean_formatting test.txt
$ cat test_cleaned.txt
okay yeah okay
