Asciidammit2

A port of asciidammit.py. Originally created to strip out characters that were giving our email provider problems. Extracted for general use. Another asciidammit gem exists with a different API

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'asciidammit2'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install asciidammit2

Usage

ascii_str = Asciidammit.demoronize(string_with_weird_chars)
