Going to /u/userthatdoesnotexist just shows loading animated gif

I figured out I could edit users by going to: http://mytestboard.com/u/1 or /2, /3, etc. However, if you go to one of a user that does not exist, the page shows the header and the animated loading gif and does nothing else.
