Mailchimp audience not updating with my forem users' emails when they subscribe

Describe the bug

I set up my forem 10 days ago at developmenthackers.com
I've created a Mailchimp account and an audience to handle my weekly newsletter, and connected it to forem using a Mailchimp API key and a Mailchimp Audience ID. However, this connection doesn't seem to work.

I mean that when a user creates an account and opts-into the newsletter, his email is not added to my audience on Mailchimp. When the user toggles the newsletter checkbox on their profile page, nothing happens in my Mailchimp audience too.

To Reproduce

1. Try to set up the Mailchimp newsletter on a new forem in the same way it's explained on the forem admin docs.
2. Create some new users, make them subscribe to the newsletter during the onboarding.
3. Check if their email is added to your audience on Mailchimp.

Expected behavior

I'm expecting the emails of new users on my forem to appear in my Mailchimp audience if they decided to subscribe to the weekly newsletter during the onboarding.

I've tried this many times, and made a friend do it too... so I don't think I have a typo somewhere haha.

Potentially related #11494 & #12021, i.e. there may be wider Mailchimp synchronization issues.

It started syncing for my forem but I have no idea why. I had tried updating my forem a week earlier but that had not done anything. Didn't touch anything for a few days, one day it's not working and the next my subscriber list now updates.
So I guess I'd still say this is a bug, but not for me anymore haha (knocks on wood)
