dialog (not in fullscreen) is taking all screen

Im trying to show the FullScreenDialog as a normal one, meaning i want it to wrap the content in my dialog fragment and not take the all screen.
of course i user setFullscreen(false) and got the "normal look" dialog, but it still takes the whole screen with only the edges around shows the background parent.
how can i change the height of the dialog to only wrap the content (like normal dialog)?
ive tried looking for it in the code with no success.
