Currently, I use the Markdown Helper of EdoFro to create documentation, it is nice but a little complicate-slow, I'm looking for a faster way. |

Thanks, macmarrum, I tried it but the result is fast but not quite satisfying because it misses the structure of nodes. In complex maps, I couldn't understand the structure of reading in MD, and I'm not so skilled in MD to be able to modify it effectively. E.g.: I tried to add more than 4 levels but already at the 5th it became the writing with: ##### etc. |

I am a regular Freeplane user and apply it for many purposes. Often, I need the resulting mind map in Markdown format as well. Unfortunately, the built in export functionality so far can produce only headers. Some other scripts did also not meet my needs. Thus, I wrote freeplane2md, a command line tool and scriptable Python function to convert mind maps in Freeplane format into Markdown. So far, it has the folllowing features:

as supported by most tools.- [ ]

).Maybe it is helpful to further Freeplane users. Let me know your comments.
