Problem/Motivation

List of addons only includes addons which can be added to HassIO directly through the addon store, however this leaves out some cool docker images which you can add to HA.

Proposed changes

Should this list continue to only include addons which are directly installable through the addon store?

I would want to say yes, as other docker images require a more difficult manual install (using Portainer for example), and not as simple as using the addon store. However, custom components are equally unsupported and also require following a specific procedure to use. Granted, using a custom component is still easier than a custom docker image.

Docker images which I think qualify for adding to the HA-Awesome list, if allowed, would be:

  • DeepStack: Deepstack is a AI powered face & object detection engine, exposed over a REST API. Easily integrated directly into HA using robmarkcole's Custom Component HASS-DeepStack.

  • Marthocs' deCONZ: This deCONZ image provides the same features and integration into HA as the official image, but also allows enabling VNC access into the image to view your ZigBee mesh network and diagnose any issues.

I think there are a few other docker images such as Ombi (Plex Request server) and SyncLounge (Watch Plex movies as a group with group pausing and a chatroom) which are great and I run on my own HA server, but are not strictly related to Home Assistant so probably shouldn't be included unless you feel otherwise.

Yeah, and some cool operating systems you can run this on...

Nope sorry, that is really outside of the HA scope.
