It looks like with this the absolute easiest thing to do is to start with a webfinger.
Simply a +1 on this. There are fedi tools for "micro-blogging" , image & video sharing, and various clients, but I am not aware of any music streaming tool, particularly that has a payment/ tipping option built in. I think there are many potential synergies.
Big support to connecting Mirlo with the Fediverse! In fact, the lack of this connection is an important factor making me hesitate to set my tiny humble home here, and I was a crowdfunding backer with a T-shirt (meaning, I'm convinced about Mirlo's goodness). 🙂
I was wondering, does the ongoing development of https://emissary.dev/ and https://bandwagon.fm help to get inspiration and see how they are solving things?
Reacted by Andy Piper, AxWax and Ben Pateif activityPub is fully integrated that means musicians don't have to put their music on multiple places as anyone with a fedi account can follow one's releases, and posts, from any domain. this interoperability is very important. what's more, could such federation work also for collections of bought albums/releases? could even "competing" projects like jamCoop, bandwagon, and mirlo interoperate, forming a federated network of interconnected nodes on plural but compatible "marketplace" for music?
whatever the implementation, any move towards use of activityPub protocol gets my highest vote!

Users in Mirlo can activate their ActivityPub integration by going on their artist details page and toggling the relevant button there. This is still a WIP so don't expect much.
When they do that, a webfinger will be enabled, eg. https://webfinger.net/lookup/?resource=team%40mirlo.space
The webfinger points to an actor page: https://verify.funfedi.dev/?actor_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fmirlo.space%2Fv1%2Fartists%2Fteam
Which does seem to work (even though POSTs don't work, but that should be fine?), however, mastodon isn't finding our team Person, nor does NodeBB, which implies there's something going wrong: https://community.nodebb.org/user/team@mirlo.space

ActivityPub integration enabled in my artist profile, and I will start uploading my music (regardless of the status of this bug; seeing a clear intention is all I needed to convince myself from doing the move). :)

Hey, has anything else happened regarding federation that's not been mentioned here?
@JuxGD Just to clarify that federation isn't exclusively about ActivityPub, but yeah, there's been ActivityPub progress. Artists can (as of this morning) toggle ActivityPub on their profile and they'll appear like we do https://browser.pub/@team@mirlo.space

I'm one of the dev of Funkwhale and i wanted to propose my help if you want to implement the ActivityPub objects we support. Unlike Canimus we have multiple artists support which is a should have from my pov. I wonder if this would be the way to do activity-pub-express at the easiest level, though it seems to be primarily based around a mongo database.
