Is there a way to reset the idle time to 0?

I know this isn't applicable to this program, but I've scoured the internet and haven't found an answer to this. You seem very familiar with the domain, so I hope it's not too much bother to ask what you may know about this. Really appreciate any help!

I guess it depends on the "use-case"... So what do you like to achieve?

Hey thanks for getting back to me @g0hl1n.

I have a motion sensor in my office and I'm using it to turn on the monitor when I enter the room and leave it on while I'm in there. So if it's off and detects motion it turns on and every time it detects motion I want it to "reset" the idle time. I'm currently using xset s reset and it seems to work most of the time, but I've also seen strange behavior where it isn't turning off. I haven't been able to confidently determine if this is the right solution, though, and the documentation on it isn't very clear.
