It would be great to have the possibility to also rewrite the radio id depending on the original radio id and destination id.
This is convenient if you have multiple radios and/or call signs and/or a commercial radio with a different id that you want to override on HAM channels. Use cases are multiple

I would also appreciate this feature, so I might try to implement it... What command syntax do you think of?
IdRewrite = ,

I am very very unhappy about this. It has legal implications because of the possibility to spoof someones identity. On balance I cannot see this being included despite its usefulness in certain circumstances.

Hi,
is it really so bad with the legal implications? Noone can stop anybody from setting any ID to his radio. And anybody can send a mail from any address he can think of, for all that the mail is legal.
This ID translation would be configurable just by the hotspot owner, not by any random user, so I would consider it safe.

I really need that feature because my radio (GD-&&S) has no keyboard and the only way to switch the ID is to reflash all the memory content. We have two DMR networks in the Czech Republic and each uses different IDs. ID translation on the hotspot level is pretty logical solution then.
