Copy customized templates to a new site #1491

Perhaps Gantry 5 should renew the suggestion for a template export/import feature as suggested in issue #1174.

Info: this is the procedure that worked for me.

Old site:
Using Joomla 3.62, Gantry 5.3, Hydrogen template (customized).

New site:

  1. New install of Joomla 3.6
  2. New install of Gantry 5.3
  3. New install of Hydrogen template
  4. Copied necessary images across to the new site.
  5. Copied the template's g5_hydrogen folder across to the new site, but Gantry 5 component did not discover or recognize my customized template.
  6. Deleted mySql tbl_template_styles from the new site.
  7. Exported mySql tbl_template_styles from the old site.
  8. Imported mySql tbl_template_styles into the new site.
  9. Recompiled CSS from base outline.
  10. Then Gantry 5 recognized all versions of my customized template.

Yes, this is one way to make the outlines to work in Joomla.
