Hey, man. Thanks for your great job!

I follow your instructions and youtube video to unbrick my WiiU by using Pico, but nothing happen. The recovery_menu cannot be loaded.

Did I miss something by using Pico?

  • Make sure you don't have any other USB devices plugged into the console
  • Try fully unplugging the console first#
  • Does the console power off? What is it doing after inserting the USB cable?
  • Are you using the front ports of the console?
  • Is the SD Card formatted as FAT32? Is the recovery_menu on the root of the SD Card?
  • Try reflashing the pico

Thanks for your reply. I did exactly what you said in the instructions. And I just use gamepad to turn on the console.

When I tried to use HDMI to output the display, my monitor display a white-and-blue screen and the gamepad still stuck on WiiU logo. This was so strange. I guessed the recovery_menu might have been loaded. So I pushed the button blindly and found out it really worked. But with bad luck, my WiiU seem have other problem, it can't be save with your method.

I dump all system logs to the SD Card blindly. Here is the latest system log:

83.log

If you know anthing, please do tell me.
Thanks again for great job!

There is a build available with better TV output support here.

The log you attached included logs from running udpih, can you upload an earlier log which was generated by starting the console up normally?
One thing which doesn't look normal is this line though:

00;00;09;875: *** KeGetSharedArea() - area not loaded.
00;00;09;875: Error: Root could not get shared font data for font 0

Is the CafeStd.ttf font in /vol/storage_mlc01/sys/title/0005001b/10042400/content? You could check using wupserver/wupclient, by running w.ls("/vol/storage_mlc01/sys/title/0005001b/10042400/content").

Thanks again!

I have tried the new version, but still can't make the TV output work. Here is the TV output.

And here is the whole system logs that I dumped:

Maybe some part of hardware have been broken inside my WiiU. Thanks anyway for your reply!

The system fonts can't be loaded due to MLC data corruption:

Unfortunately there is currently no way to recreate a clean MLC and set up RedNAND from the recovery menu.
