gmvault restore seems extremely slow

I have a 340k email database that gmvault has synced without too much issue. Now I'm trying to restore it to another email and when I launch that I seem to get high disk and memory usage and very slow progress. Current estimate is the following:

is this to be expected or is it a bug? It does seem to be speeding up at least slightly.
