I was having the same problem with two 1920x1080 monitors, on Debian 12 bookworm. It wasn't broken, the image was indeed just stretching across the two monitors. Your flatpak with the option "Image Adjustment" set to "repeat" fixed it. Thanks.
What happened?
The background was very zoomed in and blurry, just the top left quarter of the entire picture.
Expected behavior
The image scales properly and displays at 1:1 scale, using Zoom, Stretched, Centred, or whatever scaling. Or even no scaling at all?
To Reproduce
I think you'll need to apply this image on a multi monitor (1080p) setup with GNOME 44.
