Anyone had a try to see how much work it would be to adjust geany to gtk4?

I thinks written in Vala is better, I saw the modification and submit of C files yesterday in this repo. Using C to write the interface is difficult and not modern, compared with GEDIT or io.elementary.code.

@eexpress Geany is written in C. To make it Vala would be to re-write, and will not happen.
