Got 'Reader' object has no attribute '__geo_interface__' when calling shp_to_ee

I got the error when loading a shp file, either by script or using the toolbox. I have install the 0.8.15 version. The problem is also exist when updated to the latest version after calling geemap.update_package()

Check the pyshp version. It must be >= 2.1.3. Otherwise, you need to update it pip install -U pyshp

It seems all packages were installed to base conda env. This is not a good practice. Try creating a fresh conda env.

conda create -n gee python=3.8
conda activate gee
conda install mamba -c conda-forge
mamba install geemap -c conda-forge

Yes, all packages were installed to base conda env. I got another problem when gee env is activated. It say conda command is not recognized.

This is not a geemap problem but rather a conda problem. You will need to figure out how to set up conda properly on your computer. Please search online for solutions. You can also take a look at this video on how to install Miniconda and geemap https://youtu.be/JCyFZRJOmOk

This is a strange issue. If you installed pyshp correctly, you should get v2.1.13 when printing it out. Try the following code. If it does not work, that means your conda env is messed up. You might need to clean up and reinstall miniconda/anaconda. Or try it with another computer. I have tested it on Linux and Windows, and it works just fine.

I have uninstalled anaconda twice and also vscode client on my workshop. However, the problem is still exist after I installed the anaconda and run the test script at the very begin. I found the pyshp is lot install using ‘pip list’, but it can still can run the 'import shapefile'

You need to have a clean uninstallation. Some user configuration and registry might still exist after uninstallation. Run the following script to find out where pyshp is located. If it is not located within your gee env, then your conda env is still messed up.

After delete the tcrm direcotry, I got 2.13 version now. Thank you. I will try the geemap now.
