The GEO Community is an example of diversity. With diverse activities, the community is composed of public and private institutions. At GEO Knowledge Hub, up until this point, all developments have been carried out with "open context" in mind.

However, the GEO Secretariat has received requests from the community for space in the GEO Knowledge Hub for sharing not fully open EO Applications. To include everyone and reaffirm the diversity of the GEO community, the GEO Secretariat started developing the GEO Knowledge Hub Marketplace, a module for the GEO Knowledge Hub that empowers community members to share applications that are not fully open.

This module should provide a simple interface for publishing applications that are not fully open (e.g., applications with commercial licenses). Also, for users of the GEO Knowledge Hub, this kind of application should be identified with a special label.
