This is because it is overlayed with the hint.
The screen is not scrollable, so the information is just not accessible for the user.

would making the screen scrollable suffice?

I had a go at this, but to make our custom table scrollable was not an easy feat :( don't want to introduce a regression at this stage. I think the best way would be having the info alert popping up after user clicks settle.
