dashboard filter when embedding externally

I was able to setup the dashboard filter and get it working across widgets, but the filter button disappears when embedding the dashboard externally. Apparently this is on purpose?

You can share existing dashboards with external users (they'll see only the widgets, without the navigation and other buttons from the Redash app).

If that is the case, that's really disappointing. Is there a way to change that setting for myself if not everyone?

This happens even when sharing dashboards. Filters disappear.
