What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Start Ardesia
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

If I start Ardesia it covers the whole screen using a black background. Any open
windows below/behind it don't show. I can draw lines on a black screen, but
cannot
use it for much more. If I try to edit preferences or quit everything just
freezes.
Pressing the power button is the only way out of the frozen screen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Bodhi Linux 2.1, installed the latest version using
sudo apt-get install ardesia

Please provide any additional information below.

On the same Compaq laptop Ardesia runs well on Ubuntu 12.04 under Unity, but
not with the Gnome 3 Shell.

The issue seems invalid. Dodhi Linux use Ardesia 0.9, the upstream cersion is
Ardesia 1.1. Please test it. Similar comment for Ubuntu 12.04 the package
version is 1.0 and the support for Gnome 3 Shell and Unity are only since 1.1.
Please try the new code and see if the problem is solved or not. If the problem
persists then reopen the bug.

I have downloaded the 1.1 version and everything works well.
Thank you for the feedback.
It's a really useful software for teachers.
