Just found out that adding a filter such as this one:
filter: drop-shadow(9px 15px 8px rob(0 0 0 / 0.35)) ;

This results in the ghost being offset from the target element.
Same effect as this issue:
kutlugsahin/vue-smooth-dnd#31
