Select Box for View Menu Is Bad UI/UX

Hi! Thanks for the amazing app!

This select-box that says Show is bad UX. A select box show open a menu where you choose something and then it shows the value of selection instead of its placeholder view. But this:

Is nothing like that. And it makes me so confused and stressed each time I click it.

Conventional UI for this is a menu:

A menu feels quite natural for these things. Some UIs have different icons that shows each thing that is on or off:

However a choosebox/select-box/option-box is really not the UI for this, can you please change this one?

I agree, they should be View menu options.
