MediaWiki used to support math rendering in blocks until recently. This has stopped working. Are there any plans to recover this extremely useful feature?

The math tag leaks information out to the Google Charts API. We considered it a low-severity security issue while looking for a replacement. We don't like leaking any information to third-parties.
@gjtorikian Thanks for the explanation. That is, however, not a very user-friendly approach. I personally do not mind sharing information with Google Charts, in particular when sharing information on GitHub. I assume that there is a significant fraction of users that would prefer sharing information with Google Charts over not having math typesetting. It would have been better to make math parsing optional, with default off.
