Figure out how to handle multiple defaults for colors depending on GUI theme

Right now we have single preference defaults for all of our colors that are chosen to look good in dark mode, but in light mode the defaults don't change! We need to figure out a way to bind color preferences to the theme in some way, so that switching widget themes leaves custom-rendered stuff looking sane.
