This seems to have been the case for a long time. Do we want to try to fix this, or should this test be excluded on 32-bit?

On Debian11 32b I do have crash for _ test_l64.pro_ and test_byte_conversion.pro failed

Yes, following the message, maybe it makes sense to exclude this test from the testsuite for 32b

GDL> test_l64,/verb
Be patient, this code will allocate LARGE arrays (2LL^32 size)
The code may fail or swap if not enough memory
Magick: abort due to signal 11 (SIGSEGV) "Segmentation Fault"...
