GUI organization in GRC is painful with the text grid-specification method we currently have. I believe you specify row and column as well as row-span and column-span. That works fine for simple GUIs, but really falls apart when you get bigger. Maybe certainly GUI elements have min sizes?
I'd suggest making a companion apps that lets you take a set of GUI elements and drag them around the grid and resize elements in realtime, so you can see what's happening. Doesn't have to work while the GUI is running samples, but that would be nice. So think a dynamic wire-frame at a minimum.
