As of December 2020, Goodreads does not issue and developer API keys and has halted previously generated API keys.

How can I get this working without that?

Thank you!

Hi there - I had the same idea as these folks after the goodreads api shut down.
I wrote https://gitlab.com/mattkatz/export-goodreads-library to automate downloading your goodreads lists.
I'm still looking at how to automate the other parts but will update my library as I figure out more. I don't plan to do exactly what this library does, so feel free to use my code to replace the API interaction from this one.

Any movement on this? I just found libgen, but readarr does not support it and LazyLibrarian doesnt import from goodreads. Would love an alternative way of automating my goodreads downloads.

My ultimate solution for this was to abandon goodreads. It just isn't fit for my purposes anymore. I joined bookwyrm, which is open source, federated, social and has a good community. https://joinbookwyrm.com/
It also has an open public API, so I can easily do things like find my to-read list in json format:
