Original issue 16 created by waylonis on 2010-10-28T19:08:57.000Z:

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Launch GA
  2. Generate an OTP
  3. Turn off phone
  4. Re-launch GA after some amount of time (e.g., 1 hour)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect, for both counter and time-based passwords, that it would automatically choose a new password. Instead, I see the same password and have to press on the refresh button.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.3.322 on iOS 4.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I would be great to add a setting to say "Generate new password(s) whenever I launch/activate the app".

That would produce a problem with the counter running away.

If you use time-based passwords, you do get autogenerated ones, but for counterbased I think that would create more problems than solutions.

Re: counter-based OTPs, as gnutt mentioned, it is intentional that we do not automatically increment the counter and generate a new OTP.

Re: time-based OTPs, it should automatically generate a new OTP on launch. If you see time-based OTPs not refreshing on a relaunch, please reopen this bug. Thanks!
