Can I disable adding animations when adding lots of items?

Adding ~1000 items to the map and clustering them slows down the UI significantly because all the individual markers are added to the map first before being combined to clustered markers. Is there a way to disable the animation where the individual markers move inside the clusters and then disappear, so instead only the final clusters are displayed?
