Hi,

I'm currently the only maintainer of python-gitlab, and don't have a lot of time to work on this project. I'm looking for co-maintainers for starters, with the goal of retiring entirely from the project at some point.

Please comment on this bug if you're interested in participating in this project development, or send me a mail if you prefer.

Thanks!

@bufferoverflow That's for pointing this out to me. Although I'm not that familiar with the whole source code, I've contributed the rate-limiting feature before and I'm using this library nearly daily for our private GitLab instance.

I would love to help to keep it alive, review merge-requests, comment on issues and further implement future GitLab API endpoints.

@max-wittig the goal is not to leave you or other willing souls alone, if you accept the mission. I'm still around and very happy to explain the code (and its history) if needed.

As I'm going to use it also more, I'm willing to dive into this one as well. Some into session to get fast up to speed would be appreciated

@max-wittig @hans-d thanks for stepping up :)

I sent you invites to join the python-gitlab organization, and will give you access to the python-gitlab repository.

I've configured the repository for a proper PR/code review process, to give us a chance to discuss code and get things moving. I'm very busy with work these days but I should be able to do some reviews, and you can review each other work.

I just keep control of the release process to pypi for now.

Todo for me also:

The docker image repo has been moved, and I created https://hub.docker.com/r/pythongitlab/docker-gitlab/. I've triggered a build, let's see what happens.

@max-wittig @hans-d could you give me your dockerhub IDs (if you want to)?

I'm not sure about the Travis configuration, still looking into it...

@gpocentek Sure. I'm maxwittig on dockerhub

If you're still looking for more maintainers, I'd be happy to help too.

@gpocentek We really need more maintainers for this project. @zoidbergwill seems like a good candidate based on the recent PR reviews.

@max-wittig @zoidbergwill done

We are 4 in the team now, woohoo. I should have a little bit more time to spare in the coming weeks, I'll try to focus on reviews.

Should we setup a communication channel in addition of github issues (IRC? slack? something else?).

Thanks all!

@gpocentek Sounds good. Whatever you or the others prefer. I have neither of those. Slack is the thing nowadays, I guess

Gitter is great for low overhead for people joining discussions too.

The Gitter room python-gitlab/Lobby has been inaugurated in the meantime. Is a PR wanted to add a Gitter badge to the top of the README?

Afterwards, I guess, this issue can be closed.

See PR #620 for the Gitter badge. --^^^

I also noticed that, before closing this issue, the "Maintainer(s) wanted" notice section should probably removed from the README again.

@bittner thanks for the badge patch. I'll make a PR to remove the notice and close this bug.

Hi @gpocentek

Sorry for missing my chance to accept the invite to become a maintainer of this project. If you don't mind, could you invite me again?
