The description field is used for documentation generation - https://github.com/grafana/dashboard-spec/blob/_gen/_gen/7.0/jsonnet/DOCS.md. We'd like to fill in the gaps for existing schemas. Any new schema should include descriptions before being merged.

New plan is to define the schemas/descriptions in the core Grafana repo!
