This is a request to provide end of life information for each version of operator and grafana.
If already documented somewhere please provide docs link, I have searched and unable to find them.

Version 4 is now only "supported" with critical bug fixes, no new features will be accepted.
We haven't decided for how long we will support version 4, but no longer than a year.

I will bring it up during our next meeting.

We haven't taken any decision on when end of life is, but as stated in our README, and it was updated in this PR #1156 we only support critical bug fixes for v4, and we recommend everyone to update as quickly as possible.

We will see how the migrate for the community goes and depending on that we will decide on end of life.

Hi @NissesSenap, I understand the recommendation that you've stated here to upgrade from v4 to v5 as quickly as possible.

However, the README and documentation is fairly vague and incomplete about expectations for users of the Grafana Operator. The README on "master" branch for version 5 says. The v5 README wording doesn't even limit bug fixes to only 'critical bugs'.

Version 5 is actively being developed with new features. The previous version 4 is only receiving bug fixes on the v4 branch.

The version 4 README after clicking on the link to the "v4 branch" says.

Version 5 of the operator is now located in the master branch of the operator. Version 4 is located in the v4 branch. For more information on how version 4 is supported, please look at the official documentation.

Clicking on the link to go to the official documentation doesn't seem to provide any information on how version 4 is supported from what I could find.
