We do display these, but you need to set the display_sanitized_html setting to yes. I originally defaulted to 'yes', but then some jackass posted an image of a naked dead person onto the general channel, so I changed the default to no.

I'd still like to add a link that allows you to view html on a single message even when the default setting is no.
