Render grass runways in a different color #1024
Comments
Disused=yes is a bad tagging scheme. Instead, use either aeroway:disused=runway, or aeroway=disused, disused=runway. |
Please, open a separate ticket for separate issues. |
nice idea. But i am unsure if this would look nice. |
The other issue might be when the runway is tagged on an area such landuse=meadow or landuse=grass which is also green. It might be difficult to make out clearly what is what. Perhaps the runway line could be dashed or slightly different so there is a visible difference between the runways. |
Asphalt runways have a center line, perhaps this could be rendered. Perhaps this would intuitively imply a more solid runway. |
I think that special rendering for various runways is an overkill - main problem is presenting it in such way that people will typically understand it. |
I agree. I will close this issue as won't fix. The given example should be improved by correctly tagging the disused runways. |
Would it be possible to render grass runways with a different colour, e.g. A greenish colour.
In this particular airfield: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/53.9219/-0.7981 there are 4 runways, two concrete and disused and the other 2 are grass runways. Disused and surface tags have been added to each of the runways, but this isn't shown on the map.
Additionally, runway names and numbers no longer seem to be shown.
