Please complete the following information when submitting a feature request or bug report.

  • Extension version:7.1.12
  • Browser name & version:Chrome Version 99.0.4844.51 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • Operating system & version: Windows 10 Pro 21H2 build 19044.1526

Issue: If you have 20 tabs open (may fail with less) and select Suspend all other tabs in this window, all the suspended tabs will not show a tab name but instead the ... chrome extension long name. Also they will all show the great suspender icon. The same thing happens if you have a laptop that is suspended when it is time to suspend everal tabs. When you unsuspend the laptop, all tabs will suspend but not show the name, and will show the great suspender icon. (The laptop suspend issue is the major issue for me.)

The great suspender options are: First four checked, next two unchecked, next two checked, then unchecked, checked, checked, unchecked. Screen capturing is disabled.

TGS was built from this github code site (not the chrome store). This was done yesterday from latest, and no prior builds, although The great suspender chrome store version was installed, but removed prior to this version. This was verified by the extension not showing up, and not suspended tabs, and no right click option.

It started working again for me. Not sure what changed, but possibly a new version of Chrome fixed it - Version 100.0.4896.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Edit - This did not fix it, as it only briefly worked. 4/15/22

Happened again today with twelve tabs. I had opened them this morning at almost exactly the same time, And by this afternoon they all showed the TGS logo. I have my tabs set to suspend after two hours. I will see if I can find better steps to reproduce.

Edit - Just to be clear, right now the bug happens with all tabs all the time. So I need to figure out what temporarily stopped the bug and caused it to work correctly. Maybe it is related to using a laptop with suspend/hibernate, or maybe because I have four Chrome windows, each with many tabs open. 4/15/22

This has now been working fine for me for awhile, about a month. My only guesses are Chrome issues. Updating and restarting Chrome may help. Try disabling other extensions.

For me this is either solved or too intermittent at this point. If other want to continue this, please add more details so it can be duplicated, preferably on a virgin windows install. (Ask for the moon.)
