As a new user of Grist, it took several minutes to find the button "Back to current" when previewing a snapshot:

Back to current button stuck to the share button

I still find it counterintuitive the place of the button, as it is stuck to the share button.

I would rather propose to place a special snapshot "Current version" we could click on and with a menu where we can propose to "Replace the current version".

Proposal of the "Current version" snapshot

What do you think?

PS: That's my own proposal, I am far from being an UX expert.

This seems sensible.

What do you envision in the three dot menu? Looking through the following menus available in snapshots' three dot menus and the share icon's menu, there is nothing too sensible to keep in the proposed "Current Version" three dot menu. I am talking about the following two lists:

and

Nothing to compare or replace. Saving a copy might be useful but it's available through the share icon which users should be accustomed to. Might be best to drop the three dot menu in the "Current Version" button.

What do you think about adapting the "View As" UI for snapshots? It has a similar pattern of use, and I've found myself forgetting that I'm looking at a snapshot rather than the real document -- having a move visible banner would make it more obvious.

Well, you're right, nothing to place in the three dot menu. There are useless.

From my point of view, that may do the trick!
