Option to disable metadata.properties.xml file creation

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Enhancement: Include additional checkbox that can enable/disable the creation 
of metadata properties files during the export.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Only the files themselves should be exported, with no accompanying 
metadata.properties.xml files if the option has been enabled

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

This sounds like a hack but you can always remove *.metadata.properties.xml files after export? It would be a combo of find and delete on Linux. That said, I/O of content files is probably the most time consuming part of export. Following the same thought process, would it be possible to have the option to disable content file creation/export?
