v3.2.0 - Audio Changes and Update Checker

Breaking Changes:

So right off the bat: There's an update checker in the UI now.
By default it will check for an update every time it's started, this can be disable in the Settings tab though.

Additionally, effect sounds have been moved ingame thanks to the inclusion of the bass.dll library (Also thanks to Zolika for the audio wrapper header <3)

Added:

  • New effect Respect The Law (Thanks to @gromchek)
  • New effect Randomize Player Stats (Thanks to @gromchek)
  • New effect Randomize Player Stats Once (Thanks to @gromchek)
  • New effect Very Strong Wind
  • New effect Earthquake
  • New effect Invisible Fire (Thanks to @gromchek)
  • New effect Scott The Woz
  • A new config option Drawing.TopToBottom in which new effects are added at the top instead of the bottom (this is the new default)
  • A new config option Drawing.DrawVotesOnTop to draw the stream votes at the top of the screen instead of the bottom

Fixed:

  • The Flash ending didn't disable the fall damage removal
  • Minimum Speed now taking the vehicle's max speed into account and requiring you to drive at least half of that (might need to increase it to 2/3rd or 3/5th)
  • Super Hot was inverted in it's logic
  • Arcade Racer Camera could cause a crash in certain scenarios
  • Freefall will now reset the player camera upon teleporting them high in the sky

Fixed:

  • Game not launching when config doesn't exist
  • Stunt jumps shouldn't cause crashes anymore when the player falls off a bike
  • Effect draw code should work properly again now
  • Very Flippable Vehicles having their center of mass a bit too high
  • Bring back Weapon Set 4 with just the minigun
  • Game stuttering because of Websocket polling method

v3.1.2 - Change default ports

Fixed:

  • Changed default ports from 9001 and 9002 to 42069 and 42070 respectively. (Chaos Mod GUI and Crowd Control)
    Apparently the Intel Graphics Command Center uses port 9001 and thus the GUI wasn't able to start it's websocket server on there.

v3.1.0 - Refactors and fixes

Breaking Changes:

  • The mod uses a websocket client connection instead of making it's own server now.
    This means the GUI now hosts the server. This makes Crowd Control support far easier and better.
  • Timed effects are now drawn on the left side of the screen and one-time effects on the right side.
  • The config file can now be changed while the game is running and it will reload changes ingame.
    If an error occurs it will give the user a popup with potentially even the line the error occured on.
  • The GUI now has Custom Effects split into separate categories. Sub-categories don't easily work with the current system so this was the next best thing:

New Effects:

  • Deforestation: Temporarily hides all trees and their collisions
  • Vehicular Bullets: Let's you shoot vehicles from your guns
  • Get To The Marker: Gives you 5 minutes to reach a randomly placed marker on the map. If you don't reach it in time you'll receive 10 minutes of One Hit K.O. (Player)
  • Very Flippable Vehicles: The opposite of Unflippable Vehicles - now you'll flip over easier!

Adjusted Effects:

  • Flower Power finally lives up to it's name and is mostly feature complete. Try aiming and then shooting with it!
  • Arcade Racer Camera now properly follows the vehicle's rotation (Thanks Zolika!)
  • Add Random Blips only adds between 1 and 3 blips now. This is to prevent the minimap from filling up too quickly and causing issues in the long run.
  • Split One Hit K.O. into 2 effects: One Hit K.O. (Player) and One Hit K.O. (Everyone)
  • Delayed Controls is now FPS agnostic - meaning it should work on any framerate properly.
  • Various controls related effects should now also work during the Lowrider minigame and parachuting
  • Trailers won't get modified by vehicle size/rotation effects anymore. Additionally, the Tanker won't get modified during the mission Tanker Commander either.
    This is because the game checks based on the render matrix of the trailer and truck. Thanks, R*.
  • Unflippable Vehicles now won't apply for bikes, making them drivable again
  • Screen Flip was removed.
  • Spawn Tree will make the trees not persist in the save file anymore as too many objects will cause it to get corrupted
  • The Flash should work on higher game speeds now

There's way too much for me to mention so I'll keep it short:

As per usual: There will be crashes. They are inevitable.
Please report them if you come across them, though I'm not able to promise that they'll be fixable.

If you want to contribute to the mod I recommend checking the CONTRIBUTING file.

Additionally, the .asi and .exe files are signed so most AVs shouldn't come up with any warnings.
If there are warnings, however, they'll be false positives. Just whitelist the files and move on.

Some options that used to be in the Chaos Mod itself were moved out to the Complementaries mod.
It also offers a bunch of other features such as being able to do all the races with any vehicle or buying the airstrip for $5 (in case the Bankrupt effect comes up right before it)

  • General:

    • Add option in the GUI to not run effects when nobody has voted
  • San Andreas:

    • Add new Quick Save feature
      • Press F7 ingame
      • It saves to Slot 8
      • It also doesn't save during missions
      • Has a 10 second cooldown
    • Fix vehicle name typos
    • Remove stupid gangwar autosave (The one that tried to save after the 2nd wave)

v2.3.3 - Still Don't Know How Titles Work

  • San Andreas:
    • Rename "I Am Speed" to "Usain Bolt"
    • Add active gang war check for autosaving
    • "Mirrored World" now not drawing the radar when "Disable HUD" is active
    • Teleport player to proper interior with "Freefall"
    • Add config option for "Lock Player Inside Vehicle" (this way if you somehow exit the vehicle, e.g. dying, and re-enter it, it will either lock you again or be disabled, depending on the config option)
    • Autosaving now works after finishing the 2nd wave in a gang war (it will try to autosave at that point but ALSO after the 3rd wave get's finished)
    • Allow entering vehicles after teleportation (fixes the jetpack bug with Black Project / Green Goo - the missions are still finishable, funnily enough)
    • Add config option to skip the fat / territories check (this makes it possible to start Black Project / Green Goo when CJ is fat and will make it possible to start End of the Line with pretty much no gang territories occupied)
