Hello, You have the same problem as descibed here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=143025&page=8 and after and here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=157634 It seems that the register used by nvidiabl is reset by the nvidia driver. I tried to get help from nvidia but they answered that my driver is using a register owned by the nvidia driver. Allright, guys, so please implement the backlight correctly yourself! Seriously, you're not the only one with this issue but right now, I have no idea how to trace it. I might ask you for help if I find a way to trace the bug and to show that it is related to the nvidia driver. Meanwhile, you should complain on the http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=157634 thread, maybe nvidia will react. Best regards. Guillaume |
Sorry for post twice... I didnt know where you was following... |
Hey, is there someone find a solution to this problem? It troubles me a long time. |
There is no solution to this problem =( |
It's works fine, but sometimes the brightness go back to default max.
Usually when I open some new browser or change to full screen...
The /sys/class/backlight/nvidia_backlight/brightness is right, but the .../actual_brightness is the default max value.
Nvidia 310M using driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.36, Ubuntu 10.10, kernel 2.6.35-25-generic.
Thanks
