Why do you need to override those last two function?

These are overridden to define the action items required on the action bar like that of "setting" and the define the corresponding action to be taken.

I am still confused, may be bcz not too much in this. But try considering use of array in the second version of your program. And using comments with detailed description will be good a practice ☺. I am also coming soon in Android development so embrace yourself 😎.
