I come in great need, in short I want to enable bridged mode, so that I can in short bypass this router, but it's gateway and support by phone has lead me nowhere, in short „an error on they're end has occured“
My gateway is currently running firmware version 17.1.8066-0001006-20211207165728 from Telia (LT) in Lithuania
Product: Technicolor MediaAccess TG789vac v2
ISP: Telia (LT)
Countries: Lithuania
Commercial name from the ISP: MARŠRUTIZATORIAUS TG789VAC V2
Board: VANT-6
Did anybody ever manage to get root on that device already?
Yes, by using a root strategy listed in the wiki
Yes, following another different strategy
[*] No, as far as I know it has never been rooted (Not this model)
I tried the FDEU-CVE-2020-1FC5 using a Linux machine, did everything by the tutorial the python script (worked) the router rebooted, tried to login into samba, the password worked the folders showed along with the flash drive, tried going into the rootfs folder and „Access denied“, „Permission missing“ the other created folders did open, but the one I needed did not.
Other potentially relevant info about this firmware version:
The mentioned attempt probably didn't work, because all exploits involving entering characters has been patched, tried the diagnostic exploit, in short any exploit involving enter ;;;;;; etc. into an IP/Domain window, they all fail.
Also SSH exploits also don't work, it has been disabled (or blocked)
Other details
The firmware is extremely locked down, it has an option for ipv6, but the address is 0 and you are not allowed to change it.
The time server is also locked down, can only be gotten by isp servers.
The gateway picture doesn't represent the device and is some weird unknown router, not to mention the device is using DSL, but the firmware doesn't even recognise that, and calls it „broadband“ (also no options)
The firewall level: medium
You can't change the DNS, any other address than the ISP provided one, will throw up an error, that it isn't secure.
The gateway IP is: 192.168.1.254
There are options for UPnP, but the add button is missing
This thing hasn't received an update probably since 2015. Though the firmware is ISP specific
