Nice work overall but still doesn't cut it for me. The bluetooth device (android phone) finds and can pair with the PI but shows up as ordinary bluetooth device after pairing.
Furthermore, btmon shows that device is automatically disconnected right after connecting.
Any ideas?
P.S. - I've done a lot of installing/removing packages, changing config files and such, so my setup is probably messed up. speaker-test also fails with ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused.

This script only installs the bluez-alsa package and configures it, and just automates the process, and also builds a few packages to include fixes related to Bluetooth and internet connectivity on the raspberry-pi.
Your problem seems to be related to bluez-alsa having problems with communicating with PulseAudio service.
I would start by checking if PulseAudio service is running and accessible.
