libmemcached is dead / migrate to something else? #1947
Comments
I think the problem is not in the memcache client, but in the cluster architecture of memcached. The key distribution relies on the client. So there is always some situation that two clients can have different view of the cluster topology. We have plan to support Redis in the future, whose cluster architecture is more robust. |
+1 for redis |
Too! |
Hello, any progress for redis? It seems that redis is only used for message push instead of cache now (pro 8.0.x). |
We plan to add support in 9.0 version. |
HI @killing any news? Is it planned for version 10 now? |
Yes Redis will be supported in version 10. |
Seems like libmemcached is unmaintained since 2014. Perhaps we/you should migrate to something else?
Because of #1946 I considered submitting a bugreport / patch for libmemcached, but looking at the existing bugreports, it doesn't seem like this would change anything.
