Will Packer support building images for bare metal or is it recommended to use some other tool?

We would love to support this but require more guidance on the exact best practices to achieve this. Its certainly possible. I'm going to close this as I think this discussion is better had with a closed issue since it doesn't represent exactly an active specific feature request or issue.
