Terraform (and AzureRM Provider) Version

terraform 0.11.14
azure 1.33.1

Affected Resource(s)

  • azurerm_app_service

Terraform Configuration Files

resource "azurerm_app_service" "test" {
  name                = "test123"
  location            = "${azurerm_resource_group.test.location}"
  resource_group_name = "${azurerm_resource_group.test.name}"
  app_service_plan_id = "${azurerm_app_service_plan.test.id}"
  app_settings = {
	  foo = "bar"
  }
  logs {
    application_logs {
      azure_blob_storage {
        level             = "Information"
        sas_url           = "<redacted>"
        retention_in_days = 3
      }
    }
  }
}

Expected Behavior

Log settings should apply when adding/modifying app_settings

Actual Behavior

Logging isn't configured since its settings are missing from the app service's app settings (overwritten by the app settings change via terraform)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. terraform apply
  2. Modify the app_settings
  3. terraform apply

This has been released in version 1.34.0 of the provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading. As an example:

provider "azurerm" {
    version = "~> 1.34.0"
}
# ... other configuration ...
