Until I get to the point where I'm comfortable implementing CoreData (via RestKit, most likely), the application will be completely dependent on an online connection.

Ideally we're going to want to take the Facebook route and show an "empty" view saying that a connection doesn't exit along with a "Try Again" link. Foursquare is another example, albeit not an entirely ideal one, as it reminds the user with a HUD view that a connection doesn't exist.
