Feros: Data Recovery cannot be completed if you aquire it after the main quest has been completed #79
Comments
I purposefully did not port this fix from ME1Recalibrated as I personally feel it is out of scope for this mod. Backtracking through the major levels is not intended by the developers. I think the possibility of getting a quest stuck in your journal because you didn't complete it or acquire it at the right time is not always necessarily a bug. (Although, to be fair, we did fix this for Noveria: Lorik Qui'in, but that didn't require level backtracking, just some journal edits) Open to being persuaded otherwise on this one, though. |
FWIW, someone else made a mod for this: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/1073 |
My personal opinion: Unless Hossle has any unique dialogue when doing the quest after he's been relocated, then make it impossible to pick up the quest at this point. |
Since there is already a mod to fix this, and I feel this is out of scope for the patch, I'll be closing this issue. |
Describe the bug
After completing Feros, you are able to speak to Gavin Hossle and acquire his side mission if you hadn't picked it up before in his previous location in the skyway. However, the elevator that takes you to the skyway is disabled once the main quest is completed, making it impossible to actually complete the mission.
To Reproduce
1 - Do not speak to Gavin Hossle before killing the Thorian
2 - In Zhu's Hope, speak to Gavin Hossle and acquire his mission
3 - Attempt to leave towards the Exo-Geni building via the skyway
Other Considerations
Fixing this bug would potentially require opening up the map in a way that was not intended. The elevator was disabled intentionally by the developers. So the solution would either require opening up the elevator so you can drive to the other end of Feros to complete the mission, OR make it impossible to pick up the Data Recovery quest once Gavin Hossle has been relocated to Zhu's Hope.
